The AWA (Africa Wrestling Alliance) has officially opened its doors to you! We are welcoming all those that have aspired to physical greatness. Whether your darkest deepest desires have been to be moulded as a high-flying, hip-tossing wrestler, or something more conventional such as a top-performing rugby player, gymnast or bodybuilder, the AWA School delivers the knowledge gained from its 23 years of experience. Bookkeepers, librarians, meat packers or train drivers, we don’t discriminate. If you’re just a regular guy or girl, don’t hesitate to contact us so that together we can make your dreams come true at the AWA Wrestling’s TRAINING school.

Postponed!
Due to an unfortunate turn of events, our wrestling ring has come to an untimely fiery demise. As a result, we are regretfully postponing our next House of Pain. That means instead of a 30th April battle, you can bank on a mega House of Pain event complete with Battle Royale on the 4th July, where titles will be flying and bodies pushed to their limits on our newly constructed square circle.

Within the last six months, the AWA has suffered two major setbacks, both times of a combustible nature. Last October, out School of Hard Knocks training camp was burnt to the ground by vandals. This time, our ring suffered a similar fate. Rather than wait for a third mishap or an errant lightning bolt, we’re mobilising massively to turn our luck around. The AWA is in a process of manufacturing a new wrestling ring. Unfortunately, we’re forced to postpone our next House of Pain event as a result, but will ensure that our June event is an even hotter prospect.

THAT’S RIGHT, IT seems that the French fighter has hurt himself and will therefore be unable to challenge Shaun Koen and Johnny Palazzio – not to worry, we’ll give him a shot once he’s back on his feet! In his place, we’ve arranged for the mighty Boerseun, another Jozi stalwart, to side with The Missing Link. Together they’ll try to topple our local heroes. You can see these and other top AWA fighters do battle on the 20th March at the Parow Civic Centre, House of Pain!

A Grassy Park Event? You’ve asked for it! We’ve delivered!

That’s right, the burly lads from the AWA have finally penetrated the boerewors curtain after three long years finally returned to Grassy Park. This is the AWA’s first foray to the South in ages, and that’s good news for the burgeoning supporters for the likes of locals like Nitro, plus stalwart fighters such as Oz and Vinnie Vegas from Mitchells Plain. They’re all joining forces in a bid to dominate the Grassy Park Civic Centre with their own flavour of high impact wrestling.
ALL SHAPES AND SIZES
The AWA employs the worldwide accepted standard of categories ranging from sprightly athletes at a Lightweight level, with bigger brawlers fulfilling their roles as Cruiserweight combatants. Then there are the ‘larger than life’ fighters in the Heavyweight divisions, and it’s these bruisers you’ll feel rocking the venue like a rampant thunderstorm. You’ve been warned!

Our premiere fight will undoubtedly be between the high-flying favourite, Nitro and the ever-charismatic Vinnie Vegas for the SA Cruiserweight Title. Other big battles will be waged between the likes of crowd-fave Shaun ‘The Lion Of Africa’ Koen and that guy everyone loves to hate, Johnny Palazzio. SA’s own Bulldog and Cameroon’s Max the Body fill out the roster nicely, as does Rasta from the Congo. Plus there’ll be LOADS more in store, so don’t you dare miss out!
