30 June 2009
Shaun Koen invited us to the GRUDGE MATCH VS HOUSE OF PAIN wrestling evening at the Parow Civic Centre. I was out of office so Heidi quickly whipped together an invite list and got everything organised for me – shweet!
I met the St Josephs kids, Divan, Brett and their family at the front door. On approaching the entrance we saw Shaun Koen in the ticket box and everybody was awe struck. Here is someone we only see on TV, standing before us, tall and well-built. I felt like a blushing, giggling teenager again J
Shaun and his wife organised our tickets and then we were ushered us to our seats on the balcony. Each choosing their spot carefully so they can see the stage best.
There was a rumble and roar from the crowd as the wrestlers approached the stage. At one point there were 4 wrestlers (Revyv vs Vamp vs Ed Electric vs Blankman) fighting each other to be the winner, that was SOOOO entertaining, the kids loved it, each routing for their favourite.
There were a few other “in-betweeners” and then the moment the kids were all waiting for, to see Shaun fight. It was awesome, exciting, nail-biting, nerve-wrecking and LOADS of fun!!!
I think I had the smallest boy of the whole bunch sitting next to me and was telling me that he and the other boys from St Josephs wrestle just like that. They have the same moves and EVERYTHING…and he couldn’t wait to get home and practice some more. Little wrestler in the making….
Confession time….i have only seen wrestling on TV, NEVER in “real-life” and oh boy did I ENJOY it J
Vat hom fluffy, GGGRRRRRR!
Thank you
