11th December | AWA House of Pain | 22 Man Coca Cola Royal Rumble
The Parow Civic Centre will once again host the ultimate Africa Wrestling Alliance experience. This one is big, featuring the usual motley crew of wrestling talent including the likes of The Oz, Johnny Palazzio and more. This wouldn’t be the AWA’s top calendar event however if it wasn’t for some very special additions such as the Coca Cola Royal Rumble. In this bout 22 men will enter the ring to contend for the Coca Royal Rumble title and the sought after belt that accompanies it. No man will have to work harder for the belt than the Bulldog, last year’s winner and subsequently the title defender. With this honour comes the immense pressure of being the first man to enter the squared circle. Does he have what it takes to retain the title? Does he have what it takes to outlast and outmanoeuvre 21 of the AWA’s fittest athletes?
You want more? How about three title matches? Shaun Koen will be present to defend the All Africa Heavyweight title he fought so hard to get in the first place. They don’t call this powerful and wizened wrestler the Lion of Africa for nothing, but even mighty lions have been known to fall at the jaws of the right sort of predator, or should we say predators? A clean fight should give the big man the advantage but you’ll have to see for yourself so whatever you do, don’t miss out!
Crowd-favourite, Mr Money is renowned for enjoying being the centre of attention. We’re not sure this is the kind of attention he had in mind though, now that he must face a mighty challenger to his reign as the Cruiserweight champion. Yet it is hard to imagine any other wrestler in this division able to outwit Mr Money, the people’s champ.
Next up is a three-way ladder bout that will determine who goes home with Max the Body’s Lightweight Championship belt. He’ll have to defend against the combined might of Ed Electric and Little Hillbilly, two spirited fighters with enough experience and diversity between them to really shake up The Body.
The House of Pain has a history of selling out its Parow Civic Centre venue, so book early to avoid disappointment. You don’t want to miss this. This is organised chaos. This is athletic. This is proper hero stuff. This is why you love wrestling.
