March month marked our first House of Pain event. The big guns, local hero Shaun Koen and an international challenger in the massive shape of USA’s Giant Warrior spearheaded the assault on our senses. A winner could barely be determined as the unruly antics of the Missing Link brought about a premature end to the bout. Shaun Koen emerged victorious despite protest by his fallen foe.
The Towbars Cape Title Match between the reigning champion Revyv and new comer, Young Hillbilly, was a high-flying event of unrivalled pedigree. Despite getting some serious air, the newcomer’s best efforts were not enough to dethrone the champ. It ended with Revyv retaining his belt.
The Tornado Tag event between Mr Money, The Oz, William McQueen and Bobby Rose was a flurry of finishing moves and failed pin attempts. Amidst the confusion it was a sneaky Mr Money that creeped back into the room and ended the fight once and for all – victorious!
A battle of the bad guys was waged between the Missing Link and similarly devious BDX-Treme. At the end of the day it was grit, strength and just general misbehavior from these brutes that left the Link standing as winner.
The mixed tag match between the protagonists, Vinnie Vegas and El Matador versus the villainous pair Johnny Palazzio and Nick Fury must go down as one of the best tag matches we’ve ever had the privilege of hosting. The good guys won in the end, much to the delight of the crowd.
The Cape Coon frontman Ed Electric, took on the crowd-favourite and equally exuberant Miss Gorgeous in a one on one battle. After a big set of entrances the match ensued with Miss Gorgeous taking the win after a playful Ed let his guard down.
Miss the fun? Don’t worry, we’ll be back with our premiere event on the 9th June 2010 (School holiday begins) – Don’t miss the next House of Pain where we suspect the Giant Warrior will be itching to cause an upset.
